ORGANIC FIRE ANT KILLER
Organic One
offers a non-toxic solution that is safer and more effective than other ant
killing products that are toxic chemical insecticides.
One
of Organic One’s most compelling attributes is the instant
gratification that comes from watching thousands of fire ants squirm,
shake, shrink, and die right in front of your eyes in just minutes.
Organic One’s main ingredient does not evaporate or
degrade. This means that its effectiveness continues substantially
longer than chemical solutions. The result is a suite of products that
are not only safer and more effective, but also longer lasting and more
cost efficient.
Organic One’s products kill upon contact and are easy to apply. There are no poisons that must be ingested by the insect to be effective. Once an insect comes in contact with Organic One, their protective waxy outer coating is scratched and penetrated, causing them to dehydrate and die. This action is all mechanical - NOT chemical!
HOW IT WORKS
In simple terms, what is found in every canister of the product is a natural
vegetable extract found in sassafras and pepper plants, and food grade
diatomaceous earth, respectively.
Organic
One's main ingredient is food grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE). Our
second ingredient is Pyrethrin, a natural vegetable extract from a variety
of Chrysanthemum flowers. Our third ingredient is Piperonyl Butoxide, a
natural vegetable extract in Sassafras and pepper plants. It is used to
magnify the effects of Pyrethrin. A small amount of this (1%) is added to DE
to add a quick killing, long lasting insecticide that is a very effective
alternative to conventional chemicals.
Organic One's Products are EPA registered and approved. The EPA
Material Safety Data Sheet explicitly states that Organic One’s
natural products contain “NO KNOWN HAZARD”. No protective gear is required
for handling.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
For Use on Fire Ants and Ants: Treat
all mounds in your yard the
same day. This product is a contact killer; therefore, you want to disturb
the mound. This is best done by (1) circling the mound with Organic
One and (2) disturbing the mound by knocking the top off with a
stick, rake, etc. If the weather has been dry and the mound is 10" deep or
more, it is recommended that you poke three or four holes in the mound,
enlarging the hole, so the mounds can be drenched. Put 4 tablespoons of
Organic One to one gallon of water, slowly pouring the mixture
into the holes. (3) Powder the top of the mound and watch them die within
minutes.
Note: A mid-morning drenching treatment is best when the sun starts warming
up the colony of ants.
